Dr. Dundas wrote the book Twentieth Century Brass Musical Instruments in the United States in 1986 and
published revised editions until its third edition in 1998. Before writing the book, he was a university instructor
and administrator, college president, and educational consultant. Throughout the mid 80's and 90's Richard
bought and sold over 2,000 brass instruments. In 2007, at the age of 89, he resides in Rutland Vermont with
his favorite Weril Regium II C Trumpet.
Richard Dundas owned the Trumpet Exchange for the past few decades. His experience as a dealer in
trumpets led Vermont Brass to acquire his business inventory and continue his special business style.
Welcoming musicians into his home and talking about instruments has always been one of Richard's qualities that made him a favorite among brass musicians.
Vermont Brass utilizes Richard's expertise often in the selection of instruments. He welcomes questions about any brass instrument. Feel free to contact Richard through the Vermont Brass contact page.
